Seated high upon your throne, you play a benevolent king (or a tyrant)—with a flick of your fingers, a swipe left or right, you issue decrees to rule your kingdom. Endure those endless, curse-like years, deal with the ceaseless demands of your vassals, your army, your subjects, and your enemies, and balance the great factions to hold on to your power. Be careful: every decision you make can have major consequences, inviting a tide of misfortune that threatens your throne and your family, and may cost you your crown—or even your life.
The fickle fate of the kingdom: random events each year affect the four areas of religion, livelihood, military, and finance based on your choices. Cautious decisions and far-sighted planning are the secret to a long reign, yet unpredictable sudden events or simple bad luck can easily shake your seemingly unbreakable power.
