No iOS version here. Download the PC package (.7z) and run it with an emulator

Prepare emulator

Please search for and buy an emulator on Taobao (Ren'Py games use Spark, RPG Maker games use RPGViewer), and ask the seller for install instructions.

Download game files

Download the game's PC package (.7z) from this site.

Import / Extract

First try importing the .7z directly into Spark (no unzipping, lowest effort). If it won't open, extract it with an unzip app and take a look: Has a game folder → still a job for Spark; Has a www folder, or js and data folders → use RPGViewer instead and select the folder containing them.

Run & play

Open the game files with the emulator to start playing. If the archive has a date folder at the top, go one level deeper.

Game synopsis

A chess-like roguelike puzzle game

Brutal Pawn is a lightweight, puzzle-style turn-based roguelike, but it has its challenging moments too. On a small dungeon chessboard, play cards to move your hero like a chess piece, outsmart enemies with all sorts of troublesome abilities, and become the greatest warrior in the Land of Chess!

- Slash through hordes of monsters with a deck built from chess pieces.
- If you know chess, pick up your fundamentals; or learn in just a few minutes.
- Carefully plan your moves to overcome all kinds of challenges and emergencies.
- Strengthen your cards with treasures.
- Finish a run in a brisk 15-30 minutes, or die trying.
- After finishing the game, challenge the Endless Tower to see how long you can survive.
- Six characters to choose from and three dungeons to challenge, all of which demand unique approaches from you.
- Play Shackles mode for a more challenging game.

Features it doesn't have
- No permanent upgrades, and not many things to unlock. The game's flow and satisfaction come from learning the game's systems and improving yourself!
- No complex or diverse build elements. The shop offers a few key decisions, but the deeper roguelike depth lies in how you handle various crisis situations!
