Game synopsis
Lead a small underground resistance group and survive the darkest hour of history.
The dark years mean fear and risk. National Socialists patrol everywhere, seeking out and arresting anyone who openly opposes their views—that is a risk. We may be beaten or even killed by the German army for resisting the regime—that is a risk. We may well lose everything, including the people we hold dear—that is a risk. This is the reality we live in. This is the struggle we endure to make it through the darkest years.
Plan, Act, Survive
Set in Berlin in 1933. You play the leader of a small resistance group. Among its members are Jews, Catholics, Communists, patriots, and others. They are ordinary people brought together by the determination to no longer stand by and do nothing. Your goal is to strike at the regime as far as you are able—distributing leaflets to let the public know the Nazis' true intentions, painting slogans on walls, sabotage, gathering intelligence, and recruiting more followers. All of it must be done in secret. If the regime's forces learn of your group's existence, every member will be in grave danger.

Through the Darkest Hour is a historical resistance strategy game that focuses on evoking the gloomy atmosphere of the period and recreating the real hardships of ordinary people living under the Third Reich. Staying true to history means that the small band of resistance fighters you lead will not change the outcome of the war, nor can you stop all the Nazis' atrocities—but you can strive to save as many people as you can within your means, and seize every opportunity to resist the fascist system.
