Prepare emulator

Please search for and buy an emulator on Taobao (Ren'Py games use Spark, RPG Maker games use RPGViewer), and ask the seller for install instructions.

Download game files

Download the game's PC package (.7z) from this site.

Import / Extract

First try importing the .7z directly into Spark (no unzipping, lowest effort). If it won't open, extract it with an unzip app and take a look: Has a game folder → still a job for Spark; Has a www folder, or js and data folders → use RPGViewer instead and select the folder containing them.

Run & play

Open the game files with the emulator to start playing. If the archive has a date folder at the top, go one level deeper.

Game synopsis

"COTE: Red Sonata" is an exquisite Japanese-style school SLG crafted by steinercode, leading you into a charming world of strategy. The game features beautiful 2D animation, delicately presenting a vibrant campus life, immersing you in captivating storylines and strategic choices.

Here, you will interact with distinctive characters, influence the story's direction through your decisions, and gradually uncover secrets hidden beneath everyday life. The AI-translated version lets you experience every detail without barriers, deeply feeling the complex emotions and growth between characters. Embark on this campus adventure full of ambiguity and heart-pounding moments anytime, anywhere, and enjoy a dual feast of visuals and strategy.

You are now officially a student of ANHS (an elite school with special rules), designed to prepare you for the harsh adult world.
You will meet classic characters from the original work and become friends with them... or perhaps develop deeper feelings?
Next, you will face two vastly different paths: one focused on self-discovery, building genuine friendships, and self-improvement, pursuing a peaceful and happy life;
The other leads to a dark abyss, where you will be forced to make difficult choices on the road to power, at any cost.
Throughout this journey, you and the protagonist will come to understand yourselves better, and your choices will determine your final alignment—good or evil.
