- Spend at the vending machine. Enter another scene: a narrow, humming liminal space where the machine waits. Insert yen, and the machine randomly dispenses an item from an unknown place, time, or reality. Some can restore hunger. Some relieve thirst. Others... don't.
- Eat or drink to survive. Choose carefully. Every item may help you, harm you, or change you. One might provide energy, another might reduce your ability to speak. One can cure thirst, another might make you forget what thirst is. The effects are usually surreal, mysterious, and sometimes irreversible.
