Prepare emulator

Please search for and buy an emulator on Taobao (Ren'Py games use Spark, RPG Maker games use RPGViewer), and ask the seller for install instructions.

Download game files

Download the game's PC package (.7z) from this site.

Import / Extract

First try importing the .7z directly into Spark (no unzipping, lowest effort). If it won't open, extract it with an unzip app and take a look: Has a game folder → still a job for Spark; Has a www folder, or js and data folders → use RPGViewer instead and select the folder containing them.

Run & play

Open the game files with the emulator to start playing. If the archive has a date folder at the top, go one level deeper.

In a forgotten galaxy full of strange planets, a lone explorer crash-lands on a world holding ancient alien secrets. Venture out from the wreck and traverse a harsh, unpredictable, procedurally generated world. Harvest food and build campfires to stay alive. Craft sci-fi survival tools such as teleporters and mining equipment. Uncover alien technology capable of repairing your ship. Among the many obstacles you will face are hunger, cosmic storms, hostile plant life, and mysterious slimes.

You won't be alone! PDB (a cunning floating Personal Disaster Bot) will follow along and help you out. Sometimes. PDB can also help you discover hidden lore, revealing the planet's history as you explore ever deeper—assuming you can survive!

OrangePixel's uniquely designed nature engine generates over 1000 planets based on a large set of environment-based rules, then drops the explorer into a world full of potential. If a planet's orbit is close to the sun, scorching heat, strong winds, and sparse vegetation will present a set of challenges very different from other worlds. Farther from the sun, long nights make stamina easier to maintain, but reduced solar energy turns every suit function—such as scanning the planet—into a critical decision.

Residual welcomes players into a non-violent survival experience with endless possibilities and no traditional combat. Jump and descend through colorful, highly detailed pixel art that evokes classic 2D platformers. Solve lighthearted puzzles and uncover the secrets of a long-lost civilization. Choose a male, female, or non-binary protagonist, customize survival parameters such as the speed of time progression, and race to repair your ship, dig up ancient secrets, or collect data entries for hundreds of undiscovered objects.
