The Long Wait
Game synopsis
Deep underground, boundless solitude. The King sleeps, and you must wait for him to awaken—wait... 400 days.
The underground kingdom was once ruled by a King whose power has now faded; he must sleep soundly for 400 days to recover. You are called "Shadow," the King's last servant. You must keep watch alone over the subterranean palace until the King awakens.
Once the game begins, the 400-day countdown starts. Even if you quit the game, the countdown will not stop.
You are the lonely Shadow underground—you can do whatever you want. No need to fret; your time is more than ample.
【How you play is up to you】
You can start the game once, then come back 400 days later to see the ending. In other words, you could skip experiencing any of the game's other content entirely. But without you, "Shadow" will become a truly lonely shadow.
Or explore the various caves, collect all kinds of items, and place them in a cozy underground living room. Go out for a leisurely stroll—no rush, no need to hurry.
Read all sorts of classic literature, such as Nietzsche's works, or Moby-Dick—or have Shadow read them. Whoever does the reading, thinking always makes time pass a little faster.
Ignore the King's warnings and venture outside the caves. You will embark on a dangerous and lengthy journey, and endless darkness awaits...
