Please search for and buy an emulator on Taobao (Ren'Py games use Spark, RPG Maker games use RPGViewer), and ask the seller for install instructions.

Download game files

Download the game's PC package (.7z) from this site.

Import / Extract

First try importing the .7z directly into Spark (no unzipping, lowest effort). If it won't open, extract it with an unzip app and take a look: Has a game folder → still a job for Spark; Has a www folder, or js and data folders → use RPGViewer instead and select the folder containing them.

Run & play

Open the game files with the emulator to start playing. If the archive has a date folder at the top, go one level deeper.

Game synopsis

Howl of the Beast is a medieval turn-based tactical folktale. A foul "Beast Howl Plague" is ravaging the land, and anyone who hears the howl transforms into a frenzied beast. You play as a deaf heroine who throws herself into danger in search of a cure.
Plan up to six steps ahead and outwit hungry, furious wolf-like foes. Various demons with different vitality and abilities lurk in the shadows. So you need to carefully consider what strategy will make them submit.
When plotting your attacks to survive, you can rely not only on wits but also on a range of abilities at your disposal. As you keep slaying the wolf packs, you'll gain skills such as Leap, Smoke Bomb, and Piercing Shot. Continue your adventure, upgrade your skills, unlock more action slots, and refund turn points. As you plan your moves, you'll also craft your own prophecies, weaving a continuous scripture through combat.
Howl of the Beast's visuals are rendered through "living, breathing paintings," a flowing art style that lets players paint their own story as they play. Forge a path through a dark fairy-tale world of obscure yet magical locations, and eradicate the plague through battle and brushwork.
