Play on iOS with an emulator

No iOS version here. Download the PC package (.7z) and run it with an emulator

Ren'Py → Spark(no unzipping) RPG Maker → RPGViewer(unzipping required)

Prepare emulator

Please search for and buy an emulator on Taobao (Ren'Py games use Spark, RPG Maker games use RPGViewer), and ask the seller for install instructions.

Download game files

Download the game's PC package (.7z) from this site.

Import / Extract

First try importing the .7z directly into Spark (no unzipping, lowest effort). If it won't open, extract it with an unzip app and take a look: Has a game folder → still a job for Spark; Has a www folder, or js and data folders → use RPGViewer instead and select the folder containing them.

Run & play

Open the game files with the emulator to start playing. If the archive has a date folder at the top, go one level deeper.

Game synopsis

This is a Christmas story set in the world of Brok the InvestiGator, presented as a standalone visual novel.

A Christmas Story in a Dystopian World
As students, Graff and Ott are notified by their school to prepare for "Tailmas"—a distorted version of an ancient Atlantian tradition. Through this experience, they will discover that even in this decaying world, sharing and friendship remain life's most precious treasures.

Do I need to play the main game first?
No! This story is a prequel to the main game, meant to flesh out the characters and worldbuilding of the main story. While playing Brok the InvestiGator first provides extra background information, this visual novel is also an effective entry point into the Brok universe.

How long is the game?
I wrote and produced this visual novel over about three weeks, heavily reusing assets from the main game. It takes about an hour to play through.
