Game synopsis
The protagonist, Kugetsu Akinari, together with his university friend Asako, is heading toward the Western-style mansion "Shinju-tei" that stands eerily in the deep mountains. Greeting them early on is the maid Shiori. The wary twin girls are named Itsuki and Imi. Add to that the mansion's master, who has yet to appear. The inhabitants of the giant mansion standing deep in the mountains number only these four.
Akinari and Asako originally came for materials needed for their graduation thesis. Led by the maid Shiori, they arrive at the study. 【If it's no trouble, you may stay for a while—please research to your heart's content—】
That night. Unable to sleep due to the unfamiliar bedding and strange ceiling, Akinari hears a girl's singing voice coming from somewhere.
Like a mermaid luring sailors into the sea, Akinari walks deeper into the mansion. There, he finds a kimono-clad girl imprisoned, singing nothing but mournful songs. And beside her, a giant white wolf.
In that instant, the maid Shiori's voice enters his mind. 【Within the mansion, there are some dangerous places—please restrain your urge to go adventuring.】 Coming to his senses, Akinari is inside the mansion.
As if in a dream—is it real, or illusion?
But Akinari does not yet know. That he and Asako have already stepped into a place from which there is no turning back……
