Snow Falling on a Southern Island

The protagonist Ryo and Kanade are childhood friends who grew up on this island. Although they were as close as siblings, as they gradually grew older, Ryo began to see Kanade as a member of the opposite sex.
One day, two months before graduation, Ryo finally mustered up the courage to confess his feelings to Kanade. However, she said, "After I graduate, I'm going to Hokkaido. I don't think I'll be staying here forever..."
And so, the two were supposed to live together on the island forever. Ryo, who had thought that would be the case, suddenly fell into a sense of loss and sadness. With a depressed heart, he visited the island's keeper of ancient legends—the old woman. After hearing Ryo's story, the old woman said, "If you don't want to be separated from Kanade, listen carefully to what I have to say." Seeing the old woman's serious expression, Ryo felt it was strange, but he listened attentively...
On the very day he heard the story, Ryo met a beautiful young girl. Her name was Saina. She was said to be the legendary princess passed down through generations on the island. Believing Ryo to be the warrior of prophecy, she needed to find five Riko priestesses to break a seal, and asked him to retrieve the coral held by each of the five priestesses.
The Riko priestesses were priestesses under the princess. Legends couldn't possibly be real; there was no way there were any Riko priestesses on this island...
To Ryo, who was quite skeptical of all this, she promised that if he helped her break the seal, she would grant him any wish he desired. Not wanting to be separated from Kanade, Ryo finally accepted the princess's request.
Ryo hadn't intended to fall asleep, but when he suddenly regained consciousness, he found himself in the shrine on the island.
Before his eyes, familiar scenery stretched endlessly into the distance. So, the encounter with the princess was just a dream after all. The prophecy too... and the coral as well. But just as he was about to think that, Ryo noticed that the lipstick mark the princess had left behind was still clearly on his index finger. Ryo's days of searching for the Riko priestesses had begun. This is the grand love story where a fairy tale passed down on Riko Island for 400 years intertwines with the modern era.
