Everyone has a heart, and living itself is a quiet unease about oneself. Even so, we merely hide it deep inside and repeat our everyday lives as if nothing were wrong, along with conversations that lead nowhere. Before we know it, loneliness is quietly wounding us all. This work is an interactive novel that depicts the interplay of "the heart's unease" and "the heart's yearning" through the story of a protagonist who carries an inexplicable "wound" in his heart, and the girls he encounters.
The game's theme is "the 'wounds' and 'healing' we are born with, and the 'loneliness' and 'kindness' that everyone possesses." On a stage of youth, when bustling excitement and glamour are so easily prized as what matters most, 《ANGEL TYPE》 instead adopts the "serenity" that elevates the soul, and portrays the radiance of the heart. Through their everyday lives, it deeply and heavily depicts the exceedingly delicate inner worlds of the characters, expressing the game's theme in a universal way that calls forth the players' empathy.
The protagonist, who attends a part-time evening high school, has always felt a faint loneliness amid his uneventful days. Yet those around him always see him as a person with good social graces and a fine personality—most likely because of his stubborn resistance to showing his true feelings. Eventually, amid such a life, he encounters three girls. There is "Sakura Shiki," who lives with a single kitten—her only family—and seems utterly unconcerned with others, free and uninhibited; "Yuzuki Miu," always warm and lively, who loves the sea; and "Kawahara Sao," whom the protagonist has known since before and reunites with after transferring into the part-time school. Through his contact with them, the heart of the protagonist—who feels an indescribable dissonance between the world and himself—begins to change, little by little...
